The LifeSkills Centre is very pleased to be open again. We have made changes in order to keep everyone safe while attending. Staff have worked very hard to implement new protocols and procedures, yet still keeping fun and learning as our focus.
It is wonderful to see the smiles on peoples faces as they return. People have adapted to wearing masks or shields and to keeping their distance.
We wish to thank everyone who chose to utilize our on line google classroom while we were shut down. This was provided at no cost to our current LifeSkill’s participants.
The LifeSkills Centre is entering our twenty-five year of operation. I am not sure where the time went. It has been very gratifying to see my philosophy take shape and watch as people gain a new opinion of themselves and set new goals with confidence. Over the years we have assisted people to move on to their own living situation and employments, we have watched people take a larger role in their family, as an adult room mate instead of an adult child. Accomplishing a task and hearing and seeing the impact it has on our families provides a person with the most important self worth and confidence to try something new. It does not matter if the person needed some help accomplishing it, we all need help.
I am so proud of what The LifeSkills Centre has become. I wish to thank all staff for having the vision that I started with and running with it every day. Each day is exciting with new activities and lessons created and implemented by Cheryl, Chantelle, Terri, Beth and Lena. You catch their enthusiasm when you enter the Centre.
I would also like to recognize Ms. Sonja Radoja and Mrs. Kim Boston. Together in the beginning we understood the vision, and getting there has provided us with some amazing memories. Both of these women put their mark on LifeSkills that remains today.
We will be conducting tours when COVID is behind us. If you wish any information please call or e-mail the Centre and we will connect with you.
